Course Overview

Lincoln Country Club is a semi-private golf club approximately 45 minutes away from Uptown. The course is relatively short, about 6500 yards in length from the tips, and plays well for golfers of all abilities. They have two very different nine hole layouts. The front nine is narrow with tree lined fairway that requires accuracy off the tee. The back nine is more open and exposed to wind, but offers some forgiveness off the tee. There are plenty of scoring opportunities throughout the course, but also plenty of water hazards and strategically placed bunkers.

The course was in very good shape from tee to green. The greens were rolling true, and the fairways and tee boxes were in good shape for this time of the year. There was a lot of construction going on throughout the golf course, and it looks like they might be adding new houses along some of the holes.

Lincoln Country Club is a great value for the price and level of play. On a Saturday afternoon, the round was only $32 and we finished in just over 3 hours. For the pace of play and price, it’s definitely worth checking out if you haven’t played the course yet. They also offer some cheap memberships for those that are more local looking to join a club.

Signature Hole:

#18 Par 4,  327yds,  Handicap 12 – This is a very short par 4 to finish up your round, but it features a 90 degree dogleg right to an elevated green, with the clubhouse just beyond the green. You can’t see the green from the tee box, but if you wanted to take a driver over the trees, you can do so and hope you get lucky. The play is to hit a long iron or wood down the fairway and set up a short approach to the elevated green. If you don’t hit it far enough down the fairway, you will be blocked by trees to get to the green. Hit to the end of the fairway and that will leave you the best look at closing out your round with a par or better.
